Basketball Recap: Model Secondary School for the Deaf Takes a Loss

Model Secondary School for the Deaf was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 52-43 to the Ron Brown Monarchs . The Eagles were not able to make up for their defeat to the Monarchs from their previous meeting back in January of 2023.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ron Brown to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lennox Walker, who went 9 for 17 on his way to 19 points in addition to seven boards and four steals. Walker is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Darrin Rado, who posted ten points and five steals.

Model Secondary School for the Deaf's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Ron Brown, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Model Secondary School for the Deaf will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on BASIS at 5:30 p.m. on January 22, 2025. As for Ron Brown, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against McKinley Tech at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. McKinley Tech is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.8 points per game this season.
