Baseball Recap: Bradford Comes Up Short

Bradford had lost ten straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 0-19 to make it 11. They fell 4-1 to the Jackson Center Tigers. If the Railroaders were looking for revenge after losing 12-7 to the Tigers when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Bradford saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rallie Wirrig, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base. Wirrig also put up a hit, which was his first of the season.

As for Jackson Center, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-11. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6 runs in those games.

On Jackson Center's side, the team relied heavily on Blake Noble, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Ian Stengel, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Looking ahead, Bradford will head out to square off against Marion Local at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Jackson Center, they will host Covington at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
