Recap: Delcastle Technical Cougars vs. Red Lion Christian Academy Lions
The Delcastle Technical Cougars''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Red Lion Christian Academy, falling 55-18. Delcastle Technical was down 41-12 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Leading Red Lion Christian Academy to victory were Evan Budinger and Jahsiear Rogers. Budinger threw for 320 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 13.3 yards per attempt, while Rogers picked up 184 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Rogers' longest reception was for an incredible 90 yards. Judah Barber made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Red Lion Christian Academy's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Leading the way was Barber and his two sacks.
Delcastle Technical's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Red Lion Christian Academy, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-2.
Delcastle Technical will head out on the road to face off against Concord at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Concord is on a three-game streak of home losses, Delcastle Technical a nine-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. Red Lion Christian Academy will take on Newark at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Delaware (Newark is ranked 27th, while Red Lion Christian Academy is ranked 17th).
