The Woodsboro Eagles can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They came out on top against Yorktown by a score of 57-46. That's another feather in the cap for Woodsboro, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Woodsboro got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Amarian Zambezi out in front who scored 15 points along with six steals and five rebounds. Layton Jochetz was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds.
Woodsboro's victory ended a eight-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-19. As for Yorktown, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14.
Woodsboro will be playing in front of their home fans against Three Rivers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Three Rivers is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games. As for Yorktown, they will head out on the road to square off against Port Aransas at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Port Aransas' favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while Yorktown has been banged up by 15 consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
