Football Game Preview: LBJ Austin Jaguars vs. Manor New Tech

The LBJ Austin Jaguars will challenge Manor New Tech at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

LBJ Austin is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Travis 69-9. The Jaguars haven't had any issues with the Rebels recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

LBJ Austin's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Javarlyn Smith led the charge by picking up 120 receiving yards and four touchdowns. Those four receiving touchdowns gave Smith a new career-high. Marquis Murry II was another key rusher, rushing for 76 yards and three TDs on only seven carries.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Manor New Tech, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They strolled past Eastside Early College with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 28-14.

Manor New Tech picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 2-4. As for LBJ Austin, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
