Baseball Recap: Lake Weir Takes a Loss

Lake Weir was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Dunnellon Tigers, falling 19-2. If the Hurricanes were looking for revenge after losing 11-1 to them when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Lake Weir saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was D'Angelo Erazo, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Lake Weir's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Dunnellon, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake Weir will challenge Leesburg at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Dunnellon, they will face off against Vanguard at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
