Basketball Game Preview: Central Cabarrus Vikings vs. Dorman Cavaliers

The Central Cabarrus Vikings will challenge the Dorman Cavaliers at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Central Cabarrus knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Dorman likes a good challenge.

On Tuesday, Central Cabarrus came up short against Hopewell and fell 75-63.

Despite the loss, Central Cabarrus had strong showings from Parker Watkins, who shot 62% from the field on his way to 20 points and four steals, and Duron Vaughn, who went 8-for-12 to rack up 18 points. The game was Watkins' third in a row with at least 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendrick Watkins, who posted nine points.

Meanwhile, Dorman strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They walked away with a 73-62 victory over Independence.

Dorman's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Central Cabarrus, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-2.
