Baseball Game Preview: Saugus Centurions vs. Hart Hawks

For the second straight game, Saugus will face off against Hart. The Centurions will take on the Hawks at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Saugus is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.

Saugus had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Hart on Tuesday. The Centurions were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Hawks. The Centurions have beaten the Hawks the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Hawks has come to flipping the script.

Saugus got a great performance from Kaleb Haag as he didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. Haag has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jake Kaplan, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Matthew Carta was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

Saugus lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

The loss snapped Hart's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-7 record. As for Saugus, their victory bumped their record up to 11-6.
