Basketball Recap: Mckinley Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact McKinley can now relate to. They took a blow against the St. Ignatius Wildcats on Saturday, falling 73-46. The Bulldogs' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

When it comes to explaining why McKinley lost, don't look at Reed Sims Jr. Despite the final result, he went 7-for-13 on his way to 21 points along with five boards and three blocks. Sims Jr's big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayveion Carter, who posted nine points.

McKinley's loss dropped their record down to 20-6. As for St. Ignatius, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 22-4.

McKinley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. Ignatius, they will challenge Olentangy Orange at 12:00 p.m. on March 16th. One thing working in Olentangy Orange's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 18 matches.
