Recap: Pine Grove Panthers vs. Houlka Wildcats
The Pine Grove Panthers won the last time they faced the Houlka Wildcats, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Everything went Pine Grove's way against Houlka as Pine Grove made off with a 51-28 victory. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 36-16.
Loss or not, Houlka got some senior leadership from Olivia Halford who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds and Destiny Foster who scored six points along with three steals. Halford scored a full 71.4% of Houlka's points, the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
The victory makes it two in a row for Pine Grove and bumps their season record up to 8-6. As for Houlka, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-14.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pine Grove will challenge Walnut at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Houlka's road trip will continue as they head out to face Okolona at 6:00 p.m. on January 5th. Okolona is on a three-game streak of home losses, Houlka a 20-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change.
