Baseball Recap: Smoky Hill Takes a Loss

Cherokee Trail hit Smoky Hill with a four-run second inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Buffaloes fell 8-3 to the Cougars. The Buffaloes have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.

Smoky Hill saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Max Goodrich, who went 1-for-4 with one run and one RBI. Jonathan Fonseca also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Smoky Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Cherokee Trail, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-7.
