The Calvary Christian Warriors will face off against the Tampa Catholic Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Calvary Christian has three straight wins, Tampa Catholic has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Friday, Calvary Christian humbled St. Petersburg with a 39-7 victory. Considering the Warriors have won four contests by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Calvary Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Oni Abasial, who threw for 208 yards and three touchdowns on only 16 passes, and also rushed for 30 yards. Abasial's passing game has become a key predictor of the Warriors' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 2-3 otherwise. Another receiver making a difference was Colton Outzen, who picked up 93 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.
Calvary Christian didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Quinn Conrad and Karston Ash.
The home team had come away the winner the last five times Tampa Catholic and Berkeley Prep had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Crusaders took a 19-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Buccaneers last Friday.
Tampa Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Calvary Christian, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.
Friday's game might be decided in the trenches. Calvary Christian has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 204.6 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Tampa Catholic, though, as they've been averaging only 81 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?
Calvary Christian barely slipped by Tampa Catholic in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, winning 21-20. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Crusaders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
