Baseball Recap: Green County Makes It Three in a Row on the Road

Green County took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Larue County, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Dragons never let the Hawks get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory on Thursday. That's two games straight that the Dragons have won by just one run.

Not much got past Tatum Durrett, who gave up just five hits to keep Larue County off the board. Durrett has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Andrew Houk, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Green County pushed their record up to 9-6-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Larue County, they moved to 18-3-1 with that loss, which also ended their nine-game winning streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Green County will face off against Warren East at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Larue County, they will take on Adair County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
