AAAA Region IV recap Oct. 9, 2012

Blythewood extended the longest winning streak in AAAA Region IV this week by beating Spring Valley, 42-27. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.

Irmo and Ridge View played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Irmo eventually emerging with a 17-14 victory.

Richland Northeast's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Cavaliers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. A. C. Whaley has thrown for 1383 yards and 14 touchdowns this season, while Craishaud Foulks has 36 catches for 608 yards. Whaley also leads the league in rushing with 181 yards.

Two of the top units in AAAA Region IV will face off this week when Richland Northeast takes on Blythewood. The Cavaliers' offense has recorded 185 points this season, making them No. 1 in the league, while Reggie Kennedy's team has permitted only 113 on the year.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Bengals take on Richland Northeast. Blythewood is currently in first, while Jay Frye's team is in third.
