Basketball Recap: Specially Fit Academy Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Zephyrhills Christian Academy, Specially Fit Academy was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They strolled past the Lakeland Christian Vikings with points to spare, taking the game 61-45.

Despite the defeat, Lakeland Christian had strong showings from D.J. Howard, who posted 12 points and five steals, and Joseph Donohue, who had 15 points and eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was John Workman, who earned five points.

Specially Fit Academy's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Lakeland Christian, they dropped their record down to 1-2 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Specially Fit Academy will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Southeastern Prep Academy National at 7:00 p.m. on the 9th. As for Lakeland Christian, they have already played their next game, a 69-56 victory against North Fort Myers on the 29th.
