Soccer Game Preview: Mishawaka Marian vs. La Porte

The Mishawaka Marian Knights will challenge the La Porte Slicers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. La Porte took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Mishawaka Marian, who comes in off a win.

Mishawaka Marian's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They put the hurt on South Bend Washington with a sharp 9-0 win. The result was nothing new for Mishawaka Marian, who have now won five contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Their offense was hitting South Bend Washington from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Jesus Sanchez led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, after soaring to six goals the game before, La Porte was a bit more limited in their matchup on Saturday. They came up short against New Prairie, falling 4-1.

The victory made it two in a row for Mishawaka Marian and bumps their season record up to 8-6-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 14 goals over those two matches. As for La Porte, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9-2.

Everything went Mishawaka Marian's way against La Porte in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as Mishawaka Marian made off with a 6-0 victory. Do the Knights have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Slicers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
