Basketball Recap: Aisha Fall's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Palmer over Thomas Maclaren School

On Saturday, the Palmer Terrors ended up a good deal behind the Thomas MacLaren School Highlanders and lost 48-33. While losing is never fun, the Terrors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 248th, while the Highlanders are ranked 100th).

Several Terrors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aisha Fall, who posted nine points and three steals. Fall is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kennedy Berry, who earned six points and eight boards.

Even though they lost, Palmer was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 3.5 assists per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 6.2.

Leading Thomas MacLaren School to victory were Sara Christensen and Aneace Forman. Christensen dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds, while Forman almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine steals. Another player making a difference was Sarae Johnson, who scored seven points and five steals.

Palmer's loss dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Thomas MacLaren School, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-2.

Palmer didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 66-33 defeat against Canon City on the 29th. Thomas MacLaren School has also already played their next contest, a 64-10 win against The Colorado Springs School on the 28th.
