Basketball Recap: Chariho Chargers vs. Burrillville Broncos

Chariho won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Thursday. They came up short against the Burrillville Broncos, falling 60-35. The Chargers haven't had much luck with the Broncos recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Despite the loss, Chariho saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Dayton Lee posted 13 points and eight rebounds.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Burrillville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Logan Gelinas, who had 13 points along with five boards and three steals. Gelinas is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sean Zanella, who went 6 of 12 on his way to 17 points and five rebounds.

Chariho's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Burrillville, their record now sits at 7-1.

Chariho will square off against Prout at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Burrillville, they will face off against Johnston at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Burrillville is facing Johnston at the right time seeing as Johnston is stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
