Volleyball Game Preview: Comeaux Spartans vs. Teurlings Catholic Rebels

Comeaux is 0-10 against Teurlings Catholic since September of 2015 but things could change on Tuesday. The Spartans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Rebels at 6:30 p.m.

Comeaux lost 3-0 to Southside on Thursday.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Teurlings Catholic, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over North Vermilion on Thursday. The Rebels haven't had any issues with the Patriots recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Teurlings Catholic walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the first set). The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-20, 25-19.

Comeaux better focus on containing Carsyn Fontenot and Kate Trahan as the pair were huge in Teurlings Catholic's win. Fontenot had 20 digs and five aces, while Trahan had 15 digs and two aces. What's more, Fontenot posted two assists, the most she's had over her last eight matches.

Teurlings Catholic was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 17 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in nine consecutive matchups.

Comeaux's defeat dropped their record down to 10-15. As for Teurlings Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 20-11.
