Football Recap: Alcoa Takes a Loss + How To Watch

After flying high against Carter last Friday, Alcoa came back down to earth. The Tornadoes and the Anderson County Mavericks were almost perfectly matched up on Friday, but the Tornadoes suffered a 31-30 defeat. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for the Tornadoes, who until this contest were averaging 9.2 points allowed.

Anderson County was led to victory by Jayzon Thompson and Jd Gillum. Thompson gained 254 total yards and a touchdown, while Gillum threw for 260 yards and four TDs on only 18 passes. Thompson's longest reception was for an incredible 99 yards.

Having lost for the first time this season, Alcoa fell to 9-1. As for Anderson County, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-2.

Alcoa does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Anderson County, they will challenge Volunteer at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
