Basketball Game Preview: Garden Valley Wolverines vs. Idaho City Wildcats

Garden Valley and Idaho City are an even 3-3 against one another since November of 2015, but not for long. The Garden Valley Wolverines will face off against the Idaho City Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Garden Valley is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.

Garden Valley is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Tri-Valley on Wednesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Garden Valley was outmatched by Tri-Valley and fell 62-26. The game marked the Wolverines' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Idaho City strolled past North Star with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 44-27.

The win got Idaho City back to even at 1-1. As for Garden Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Everything came up roses for Garden Valley against Idaho City in their previous meeting back in November of 2023, as the squad secured a 56-21 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Garden Valley since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
