Basketball Recap: Manteca's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Manteca won the last time they faced Downey and things went their way on Monday too. The Manteca Buffaloes ended the year with a bang, routing the Downey Knights 64-39. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Buffaloes as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Despite the loss, Downey saw an underclassman step up: freshman Kayden Mcdonald almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for Mcdonald. The team also got some help courtesy of Trey Richards, who posted six points.

Manteca's win bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Downey, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.

Manteca didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 64-37 defeat against Mountain House on the 2nd. As for Downey, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 61-40 loss against Beyer on the 3rd.
