Football Recap: New Castle Takes a Loss

New Castle had lost five straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-4 to make it six. They had to suffer through a 44-6 loss at the hands of the Yorktown Tigers. The Trojans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-6.

As for Yorktown, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won three contests by 38 points or more so far this season.

Leading Yorktown to victory were Nate Luzadder and Kaden Crumes. Luzadder rushed for 77 yards and a pair of scores on only nine carries, while Crumes rushed for 82 yards and one touchdown. Crumes' longest rush was for an impressive 60 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Cole Perdue was in the mix too, providing Yorktown with two TDs.

New Castle didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 27-20 loss against Delta on the 26th. As for Yorktown, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 48-28 win against Shelbyville on the 26th.
