Basketball Recap: Shipley Drops Highest Score of Season Against Perkiomen School

Shipley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 62-60 heartbreaker at the hands of the Perkiomen School Panthers. One positive for Shipley, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Several Shipley players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Henry Rassmussen, who posted 15 points along with six assists and six boards. The dominant performance also gave Rassmussen a new career-high in steals (five). Stevie Maniatis was another key player, putting up 16 points.

Rassmussen wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Shipley was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive matches.

Shipley's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Perkiomen School, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.

Shipley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 58-47 defeat against Germantown Academy on the 14th. As for Perkiomen School, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 55-38 win against Frankford on the 14th.
