Preview: Walsh Eagles vs. Cheraw Wolverines
The Walsh Eagles will be playing at home against the Cheraw Wolverines at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Walsh has now lost eight straight, leaving the team is hunting for their first win since January 12.
Last Friday, Walsh was beaten by Springfield 62-28. Walsh was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-15.
Despite the loss, Walsh saw an underclassman step up: Averi Kunselman scored 11 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kunselman has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Cheraw came up short against Springfield on Saturday and fell 47-35. Cheraw has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Walsh has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-14 record this season. As for Cheraw, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-10.
Walsh took a serious blow against Cheraw when the teams last played back in January of 2023, falling 51-7. Thankfully for Walsh, Regan Stoker (who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and six steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
