Softball Game Preview: St. John Eagles vs. Cedar Creek Cougars

The St. John Eagles will face off against the Cedar Creek Cougars on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Last Tuesday, St. John got the win against Bourgeois by a conclusive 14-1. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Braves: they've now won six in a row.

Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Cedar Creek walked away with it. They put the hurt on the Gators with a sharp 9-2 victory on Saturday.

Cedar Creek has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-11 record this season. As for St. John, their win bumped their record up to 22-8.

St. John couldn't quite get it done against Cedar Creek when the teams last played back in April of 2015 as they fell 7-2. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
