Volleyball Recap: Metea Valley Mustangs vs. Waubonsie Valley Warriors
Metea Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Waubonsie Valley Warriors. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.
While Metea Valley had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-19.
Ryan Da Silva paced Metea Valley's offense, picking up ten kills. Da Silva got some help from Om Patel and his 20 assists.
Metea Valley's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Waubonsie Valley, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-7.
Coming up, Metea Valley will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Neuqua Valley at 5:30 p.m. As for Waubonsie Valley, they will take on Glenbard South in a tournament on Friday. The last three games the Raiders have played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
