Baseball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Timpanogos' Fifth in Last Six Outings

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Timpanogos walked away with it. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Pine View Panthers a 2-0 shutout on Thursday. The Timberwolves have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Panthers, too.

Timpanogos' victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jace Hunter, who went 1-for-2 with one triple. Another was Dylan Partridge, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

Timpanogos has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Pine View, their loss dropped their record down to 14-13-1.

Timpanogos will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Panthers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
