Basketball Recap: North Comes Up Short

North was the 48-44 winner over Mayfield when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The North Rangers fell 48-41 to the Mayfield Wildcats on Saturday.

Despite the loss, North still got an impressive performance from Kaitlin Dobida, who almost dropped a double-double with 18 points and nine boards. That was a full 43.9% of North's points, marking the ninth time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Mir Ashley, who scored eight points.

North's defeat dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Mayfield, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-8.

North wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 41-27 victory against West Geauga on the 12th. Mayfield will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Riverside at 7:00 p.m. on February 19th.
