Kickapoo faced Howell in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Chiefs sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 victory over the Vikings. The win was familiar territory for the Chiefs, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Kickapoo's victory bumped their record up to 14-8. As for Howell, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 19-10 record this season.

Kickapoo didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 loss against Staley on the 2nd. As for Howell, they will challenge Howell Central at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
