Lewiston hasn't had much luck against Bangor recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Blue Devils will venture away from home to challenge the Rams at 1:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Tuesday, Lewiston beat Poland 4-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Blue Devils.
Bangor never got on the board in their matchup on Tuesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Edward Little on Friday. They put the hurt on the Red Eddies with a sharp 11-3 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Rams have posted against the Red Eddies since May 1, 2019.
Emma Tripp and Kaylee Folsom made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Tripp pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. Meanwhile, Folsom didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. At the plate, Tripp went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double, while Folsom went 2-for-5 with one home run and two RBI. Those four hits gave Tripp a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gabby Spreng, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Abby Folsom was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.
Lewiston's record is now 2-0. As for Bangor, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
Lewiston might still be hurting after the 10-0 loss they got from Bangor when the teams last played back in June of 2025. Can the Blue Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
