Softball Recap: Faith Lutheran Crusaders vs. Palo Verde Panthers

Faith Lutheran had lost eight straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 4-15 to make it nine. They lost 11-1 to the Palo Verde Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 22-1 back in March.

Faith Lutheran saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Shay Ghadery, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

As for Palo Verde, the win keeps they at an undefeated 18-0. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 9.6 runs this season.

On Palo Verde's side, Haley Kearnes was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. In other batting news, Makayla Enriquez and Taylor Johns did most of the damage at the plate: Enriquez went 1-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Johns went a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. That's the most RBI Enriquez has posted since back in March. Alexis Kearnes was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one stolen base.

Faith Lutheran does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Palo Verde, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 17-0 win against Silverado on the 6th.
