Belleville East has gone a perfect 10-0 against East St. Louis recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Lancers will take on the Flyers at 4:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Belleville East has seven straight wins, East St. Louis has ten straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Belleville East's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Alton as they made off with a 10-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Lancers, who have now won 12 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for East St. Louis' offense. They lost 12-0 to Metro-East Lutheran last Wednesday.

East St. Louis saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Adre'Onna Harris, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.

Belleville East pushed their record up to 16-5 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for East St. Louis, their loss dropped their record down to 1-10.

Belleville East took their win against East St. Louis when the teams last played back in April by a conclusive 18-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lancers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
