Volleyball Recap: Albemarle Takes a Loss + How To Watch

After flying high against Monticello on Tuesday, Albemarle came back down to earth. The Patriots fell just short of the Western Albemarle Warriors by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 back in September.

Albemarle started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 24-26, 18-25, 25-18, 25-15, 15-6.

Albemarle's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Western Albemarle, the victory was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-4.

Albemarle and Western Albemarle should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings. The Patriots (ranked 125th) will meet Charlottesville (ranked 286th) at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Western Albemarle will square off against Louisa County at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank advantage (29 vs. 166).
