Basketball Game Preview: Raby Raiders vs. Little Village Phoenix + How To Watch

The Raby Raiders are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will face off against the Little Village Phoenix at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Raby is leaving town to face Little Village after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. The Raiders were beaten by Prosser 56-12 on Thursday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it eight in a row.

Meanwhile, Little Village entered their tilt with Hammond Central on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 48-44 W against the Wolves.

Raby better focus on containing Dion Boyd Jr and Kenneth Williams as the pair were huge in Little Village's win. Boyd Jr dropped a double-double with 15 points and 12 boards, while Williams dropped a double-double with 11 points and ten rebounds. Boyd Jr has been hot for a while, having posted nine or more boards the last 21 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Anyvion Grady, who posted six points along with 11 rebounds and five blocks.

Little Village smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards in seven consecutive contests.

Raby came up short against Little Village when the teams last played back in January of 2023, falling 59-55. Can the Raiders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
