Preview: Bella Vista Broncos vs. Woodcreek Timberwolves
The Bella Vista Broncos will be playing in front of their home fans against the Woodcreek Timberwolves at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Bella Vista focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday.
Even though Antelope scored an imposing 60 points, Bella Vista still came out on top. Bella Vista had just enough and edged the Titans out 63-60.
Damian Rickett was his usual excellent self, shooting 5-for-10 from deep and dropping a double-double on 41 points and 15 rebounds. He hasn't dropped below ten rebounds for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Mikey Simonyan, who scored 14 points.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Woodcreek's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell 62-53 to Inderkum. Woodcreek has not had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Woodcreek's defeat came about despite a quality game from Tyler Hennessey, who scored 18 points. Hennessey is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Dennie, who scored ten points.
Bella Vista's win bumped their record up to 10-14. As for Woodcreek, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 19-6.
Thursday's contest is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Bella Vista have been dynamite from deep this season, having made 40.3% of their threes per game. However, it's not like Woodcreek struggles in that department as they've made 40.9% of their threes this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Bella Vista might still be hurting after the 56-30 loss they got from the Timberwolves in their previous meeting back in January. Will Bella Vista have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other basketball content.
