Basketball Game Preview: Biloxi Indians vs. Ocean Springs Greyhounds

Biloxi has gone 8-2 against Ocean Springs recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Biloxi Indians will host the Ocean Springs Greyhounds at 6:00 p.m. Biloxi is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Last Tuesday, Biloxi was fully in charge, breezing past Harrison Central 67-31. The Indians have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 23 points or more this season.

Biloxi's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Zaniya Johnson led the charge by dropping a double-double on 20 points and 12 boards. Johnson has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more boards the last nine times she's played. Another player making a difference was Aaliyah Davison, who posted 12 points in addition to six assists and three steals.

Meanwhile, Ocean Springs came into Tuesday's matchup having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past D'Iberville 37-35.

Biloxi pushed their record up to 10-0 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 29.8 points. As for Ocean Springs, their victory ended a 13-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-4.

Everything came up roses for Biloxi against Ocean Springs in their previous meeting back in January, as the team secured a 53-18 win. Does Biloxi have another victory up their sleeve, or will Ocean Springs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
