Volleyball Recap: Trinity Trojans vs. Bell Blue Raiders

Trinity was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to the Bell Blue Raiders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Raiders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 back in August.

Trinity started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-20, 25-14, 25-22.

Leading Bell to victory were Jessalynn Hota and Madison Valenciana. Hota had 11 digs and two aces, while Valenciana had ten digs and one assist. That's the most aces Hota has posted since back in August. Legacy Fakailoatonga also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Trinity's loss dropped their record down to 11-21. As for Bell, their victory ended an 11-match drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 7-12.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Trinity is set to challenge their familiar foe Keller Central at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Bell will take on rival Timber Creek at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
