Basketball Game Preview: Highlands Blazers vs. Lakehill Prep Warriors

The Highlands Blazers will venture away from home to square off against the Lakehill Prep Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Highlands' tournament run continued when they took on Coram Deo Academy back in December of 2024. The match between Highlands and Coram Deo Academy didn't end well, with Highlands falling 54-39. The Blazers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lakehill Prep). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Greenville Christian 85-18. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 21 points or more this season.

Highlands better focus on containing Drew Perry and Preston Corder as the pair were huge in Lakehill Prep's win. Perry went 11 for 19 on his way to 28 points and five steals, while Corder went 7 of 9 on his way to 19 points and seven rebounds. Perry's afternoon made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Kurian, who posted five points.

Lakehill Prep has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.4 points per game. As for Highlands, they now have a losing record at 4-5.

Highlands came up short against Lakehill Prep in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 56-46. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Perry, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and ten rebounds.
