Basketball Game Preview: Houston Hurricanes vs. Kingsland Knights

Houston is 1-9 against Kingsland since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Houston Hurricanes will host the Kingsland Knights at 12:00 p.m. Houston knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight games -- so hopefully Kingsland likes a good challenge.

On Thursday, Houston earned a 69-56 victory over Lanesboro. The Hurricanes' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

It was another big night for Morgan Rohweder, who went 7-for-10 from beyond the arc on his way to 35 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals. His evening made it ten games in a row in which he has scored at least 18 points. Carter Geiwitz was another key player, going 5-for-11 to rack up 14 points along with seven assists and five boards.

Meanwhile, Kingsland suffered their biggest loss since January 9th on Thursday. They lost 78-58 to Southland. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 245th, while the Rebels are ranked 71st).

Houston has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.1 points over those games. As for Kingsland, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-10.
