Soccer Recap: Wapakoneta Has No Trouble Against Maumee

Wapakoneta won the last time they faced Maumee and things went their way on Saturday too. The Redskins put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 6-0 victory. Wapakoneta's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three matches.

Their offense was hitting Maumee from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Grace Burnfield led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Wapakoneta's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Maumee, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wapakoneta will face off against Celina at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Celina will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Wapakoneta surely won't give up without a fight. As for Maumee, they are taking a road trip to face off against Bryan at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
