Centauri barely beat Pagosa Springs the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Falcons claimed a resounding 42-6 victory over the Pirates. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-0.

Centauri's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carson Shawcroft, who picked up 71 receiving yards and two scores. That's the most receiving touchdowns Shawcroft has posted since back in October of 2024. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Dallyn King, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.

Despite the loss, Pagosa Springs saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Alex Pacheco rushed for 64 yards, and also caught one TD.

Centauri has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 12 points this season. As for Pagosa Springs, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Centauri will welcome Buena Vista at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Pagosa Springs, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Monte Vista at 6:00 p.m. on the 19th.
