Recap: Valley Center Jaguars vs. Mission Vista
The Valley Center Jaguars waltzed into their matchup Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They managed a 74-68 victory over Mission Vista. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Valley Center to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kevin Garcia, who scored 17 points along with six assists and six rebounds. The contest was Garcia's third in a row with at least ten points. Carson Yoder was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with three steals.
Valley Center is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Mission Vista, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Valley Center won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Clairemont at 2:30 p.m. on December 16th. Clairemont knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight matchups -- so hopefully Valley Center likes a good challenge. Mission Vista won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Army-Navy at 1:30 p.m. on December 16th.
