Softball Recap: Cowan Comes Up Short

Cowan couldn't beat Eastbrook on Monday even though they stacked four runs on them in the second inning. The Blackhawks took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers. The Blackhawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Savannah Bowling spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and six unearned) runs on 12 hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Cowan saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Candice Matson, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Savannah Hall was another, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Cowan's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Eastbrook, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cowan will host Monroe Central at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
