Baseball Preview: Lee County Yellow Jackets vs. Richmond Raiders        
        
		
            
 The Lee County Yellow Jackets are on the road again  on Tuesday to play the Richmond Raiders at 7:00  p.m. Lee County is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 6.9  runs per game this season.
 Last Friday, Lee County made easy work of Prestonsburg  and carried off  an  8-2 win.
  Andrew Stanfield was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He  struck out six batters over  six innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   five  hits (and only one walk). Stanfield has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  given up  a single  earned run in three consecutive pitching appearances. Stanfield was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
 In other batting news,  Luke Sheets was  incredible,  scoring three  runs and  stealing two bases while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances.  Walker McDuffie was another key contributor,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
 Meanwhile, Richmond had to endure  a  three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They skirted past Caldwell Academy  4-2. The  victory was just what Richmond needed coming off of  a  20-10 defeat in their prior  matchup.
 Lee County's record is now 11-5. As for Richmond, their record now sits at 9-5.
 Lee County was able to grind out a solid  win over Richmond in their previous matchup  back in April of 2023, winning  8-5. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Richmond's  Ethan Locklear, who   struck out six batters over  three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit (and only one walk). Now that he won't be playing  on Tuesday, will it be that much easier for Lee County to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
