Basketball Game Preview: Argos Dragons vs. Triton Trojans

The Argos Dragons will face off against the Triton Trojans at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Thursday, Argos came up short against LaVille and fell 44-34. The defeat continues a trend for the Dragons in their matchups with the Lancers: they've now lost four in a row.

The losing side was boosted by Ellie Bollenbacher, who posted 13 points and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, Triton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. The game between them and North Judson-San Pierre didn't end well, with Triton falling 55-37. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 354th, while the Bluejays are ranked 106th).

Argos will need focus on slowing down Sydney King, one of several Triton players who made an impact when they last played. She earned nine points and five boards. Avery Viers was another key player, putting up nine points.

Argos' record is now 7-15. As for Triton, their record now sits at 2-21.

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Argos has been crashing the rebounds this season, having averaged 25.4 boards per game. However, it's not like Triton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 27.3 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.

Argos won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played two weeks ago, slipping by Triton 37-36. Will Argos repeat their success, or does Triton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
