Volleyball Recap: Greenwood Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Greenwood had lost ten straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 2-11 to make it 11. They lost 3-0 to the Woodmont Wildcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

As for Woodmont, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season. They not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since September 11th (when they won 3-0).

Woodmont's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Diana Gonzalez led the charge by getting 12 assists and eight digs. Those 12 assists gave Gonzalez a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lauren Smith, who had 11 assists and three aces.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Greenwood will square off against rival J.L. Mann at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Woodmont is set to take on their familiar foe Mauldin at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
