League recap: Niceville extends winning streak with victory over Greene County

Niceville extended the longest winning streak in 7A District 1 this week by beating Greene County, 57-28. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.

Tate took down Pine Forest 35-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Sawyer Smith threw for 59 yards and 4 touchdowns in the win.

The Aggies' offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Lavontia Samuel chipped in 147 yards. Reginald Payne helped Tate's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 12 yards.

Tate's dynamic duo of Smith and Stephen Pederson proved tough for the Eagles to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Payne helped Tate's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 12 yards.

Ashton Hooker provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Niceville defeated the Wildcats. He completed 10 passes for 88 yards and also ran for 90 yards. Hooker's key target this week was Aaron Willis, who caught 2 passes for 36 yards.

Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, John Hicks' team's Hooker and Tyre McCants have proven to be a lethal combination. Hooker has thrown for 1,029 yards this season, while McCants has 20 catches for 268 yards. Ronnie Douglas' team's Samuel leads the league in rushing yards with 652.

The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Niceville takes on second place Tate. Last week, the Eagles bested Greene County, while the Aggies beat Pine Forest.

The league will see a high scoring game when Tate and Niceville face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Aggies comes in having scored 124 this season, while the Eagles have scored 254. Tate scored 35 points last week as it beat Jerry Pollard's team.

Niceville led 7A District 1 in scoring this week after putting up 57 points on Johnny Ainsworth's team. Hooker ran for 90 yards during the win.
