Basketball Game Preview: Pratt Greenbacks vs. Hesston Swathers

Pratt is on a seven-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Hesston is on a 12-game streak of away wins (also dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Pratt Greenbacks will host the Hesston Swathers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

Pratt had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 29-point drubbing they dealt Nickerson on Friday. Pratt claimed a resounding 51-22 win over Nickerson. Given the Greenbacks' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while the Panthers are ranked 290th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Hesston made easy work of Cheney on Monday and carried off a 54-34 victory. The Swathers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 20 points or more this season.

Hesston's win bumped their record up to 14-0. As for Pratt, their victory bumped their record up to 10-4-1.

Pratt might still be hurting after the 57-36 defeat they got from Hesston when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Can Pratt avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
