Basketball Recap: Klahowya Eagles vs. Cascade Christian Cougars
The Klahowya Eagles pushed their score all the way to 55 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They suffered a tough 79-55 defeat at the hands of Cascade Christian. While losing is never fun, Klahowya can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 269th, while the Cougars are ranked 107th).
Klahowya lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Eli Kraft, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Grant Solvie was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with eight rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Klahowya and nudges their season record down to 7-9. As for Cascade Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Klahowya won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Gators at 7:00 p.m. on January 31st. One thing working in Annie Wright's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last eight matchups. As for Cascade Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against the Tarriers at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
